Other times, Aztec boys were named after famous warriors - though the general population wasn’t allowed to name their children after Aztec nobility (male or female). In addition to nature, Aztec names frequently came from religion: specifically, the culture’s gods and goddesses. Although the precise origins of the Aztec people are unknown, it is thought that they started off as nomadic hunter-gatherers, so the special devotion and attention to nature makes sense, given the lifestyle. Aztec people often were named after aspects of nature: whether it was a type of weather, plant, animal, an element, or something in the night sky. The Aztecs were also relatively diverse - made up of people from a variety of different tribes and ethnicities, though many spoke the Nahuatl language. We won’t get into a history lesson here (as you can imagine, like any colonization situation, this doesn’t end well for the Indigenous Peoples), but we will point out that like the other civilizations, the Aztecs built an advanced society with their own political, social, religious, and commercial structures. You probably learned about different dominant civilizations that lived in parts of Mesoamerica and South America prior to the arrival of European settlers, including the Aztecs, Mayas, and Incas. Think back to your elementary or high school world history class. If you’re searching for the perfect baby name and still haven’t found the one for your little one, you may want to consider one of these dozens of meaningful and historically rich Aztec names for girls or boys, or others that are gender-neutral.

In the end EDF is more of a power fantasy that you participate with friends, the wackiness comes from the aliens you are fighting and sheer camp. Not everyone at once either, otherwise no one is holding the wave of bugs back. The ammo call needs to be done, marker thrown, waiting until the drop, pod hits the ground (hopefully not behind the enemy line or directly on a teammate), walk up to the pod location and pick up the ammo THEN finally reload. If the squad doesnt cover the guy calling for ammo or each other while resupplying, the line of fire can be overwhelmed by enemy bodies and collapse. If someone doesnt break off to call for ammo at the right time, your squad could very well run out of ammo during a fight. Helldivers die VERY quickly and even their basic weapons need ammo management. Ammo is not a concern except for certain specialized bits of kit. No wingdiver going to roofs or fence zooming around half a map away.ĮDF has relatively high HP values and only increases as you play. Helldivers the feel is more "I have to be part of the team or none of us are making it home", teamplay is essential, so much so that players have to move together as a group since the camera keeps everyone on screen and doesnt move unless all characters are headed in the same general direction. It has a feel of "We are killing aliens together", the game is not super punishing to an individual player if the player knows not to go into a crowd of enemies and expect to survive. In helldivers friendly fire happens regularly unless you have a VERY good team, even then when it does happen, its seen more as a "shit happens" and the team continues forward.ĮDF players can zoom of on their own and generally be ok. Having played a lot of both, helldivers is at the same time more wacky and more tactical than EDF.įriendly fire in EDF is more of a rarity and seen as much more of a dick move. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban. ![]() The unsub's acting also fares well, at least there was some personality going on. The acting is generally not good, though credit is due to Gary Sinise for giving by far his best performance of the season and perhaps of the whole show in general. The story completely lacks tension and suspense and doesn't ever come to life. Very awkward, very leaden and still condescends to the viewer in a ham-fisted way. Speaking as one of those people, her stiff way she's acted, her lack of personality and her habitual rudeness have always rubbed me up the wrong way. Anybody that has always intensely disliked Mae will not have their feelings changed in any way here. Pretty much everybody else is exactly like how they were in the previous episodes. ![]() When it comes to the team, Garrett is the only one here that one gets to know being the only one to receive any kind of development. Really don't care for the team interaction, which still doesn't gel and is very stilted, little character moments are not there and the procedural element is just too conventional and could have been explored more. One never really feels like they are in the setting, so much the lack of authenticity. The production values are choppy and obvious and the music is overbearing and could have done with being used less, it is also at odds with everything. Unfortunately, that is pretty much it when it comes to "Paper Orphans" good things. The other unsubs of the season were too vanilla, lacked menace, were too sketchily developed and one couldn't feel anything for them. "Paper Orphans" also has by far the best unsub of the first season, being the only one to actually make an impression. The subplot may be cliched and slightly jarred with the case, but at least it had heart and gave some development to Garrett. ![]() That did strike a chord with me and reminded me of the time where my parents said similar to me when preparing for going off to music college, and can imagine other people in the same situation feeling the same too. That nice bit of dialogue was that truly beautiful moment where Garrett speaks to Josie regarding the extent to which he and her mother love and are so proud of her. Pretty much all the bad things that were so obvious and poorly done in the previous episodes are still here, but there was at least one nice bit of dialogue and for the first time an unsub that rose above vanilla which is a good thing. While still not considering it particularly good at all, "Paper Orphans" for me is the best episode of the season and of the show up to this point. Just like Season 1's last episode "Paper Orphans" did. "Love Interrupted" and "The Lonely Heart" were the only ones to me that didn't leave as much of a bitter after-taste and at least both had minor improvements. Most of them even being insultingly awful. As far as the previous Season 1 episodes go, none of them came over as good and were all weak at best. I wish my country would sue them for their representation.Season 1 of 'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders', by far to me the worst of the 'Criminal Minds' shows, was not good at all. Antalya is one of the most important turistic location in Istanbul and believe it or not its more like Greece mykonos. I live in Istanbul but i have been in Antalya numerous times and never see the places they go, there is even no resemblance, BTW they use a mosque in Istanbul in credits which is far worse. I wish they bought a plane ticket which is not more than 500-700$ to come and see the country so they can represent it adequately. I even tried to count that woman who shows their hair to public and according to Criminal minds its between 1 woman to 12 or so also a disappearing under-aged kid is a really important matter for Turkey because 18 is the legal aged you considered as an adult, i even think 16 year old American can enter this country without their parents. First of all Turkey is not a ordinary Muslim country, we are more European that they showed in this show. I can understand that they hired Arabic cast to play Turkish people but i really cant understand that they even cant speak Turkish properly. I was pleasantly surprised the first time I roasted a butternut squash and both boys requested more ‘potatoes’.īutternut and Acorn Squash both have the added benefit of being very rich in vitamins and minerals and are actually about half the calories and carbs of sweet potatoes for those that are health conscience. My kiddos are my most frequent taste testers and can be quite harsh critics. For example, if a player's home destination corner starts empty (i.e. ĭiffering numbers of players result in different starting layouts, in turn imposing different best-game strategies. Games between top players are rarely decided by more than a couple of moves. Of equal importance are the players' strategies for emptying and filling their starting and home corners. (Multiple-jump moves are obviously faster to advance pieces than step-by-step moves.) Since either player can make use of any hopping 'ladder' or 'chain' created, a more advanced strategy involves hindering an opposing player, in addition to helping oneself make jumps across the board. If three sets are played, the pieces usually go into the opponent's starting corners.Ī basic strategy is to create or find the longest hopping path that leads closest to home, or immediately into it. If two sets are played, the pieces can either go into the opponent's starting corners, or one of the players' two sets can go into an opposite empty corner. If one set is played, the pieces usually go into the opponent's starting corner, and the number of pieces per side is increased to 15 (instead of the usual 10). In a two-player game, each player plays one, two, or three sets of pieces. If two sets are used, each player controls two differently colored sets of pieces at opposite corners of the star. If one set is used, pieces race across the board into empty, opposite corners. In a three-player game, all players control either one or two sets of pieces each. The four-player game is the same as the game for six players, except that two opposite corners will be unused. The remaining players usually continue play to determine second- and third-place finishers, etc. The first team to advance both sets to their home destination corners is the winner. When playing teams, teammates usually sit at opposite corners of the star, with each team member controlling their own colored set of pieces. Starting layouts Six players Ĭan be played "all versus all", or three teams of two. (In some instances a player may choose to stop the jumping sequence part way in order to impede the opponent's progress, or to align pieces for planned future moves.) It is not mandatory to make the most hops possible. Red might advance the indicated piece by a chain of three hops in a single move. A hop consists of jumping over a single adjacent piece, either one's own or an opponent's, to the empty space directly beyond it in the same line of direction. In the diagram, Green might move the topmost piece one space diagonally forward as shown. Turns proceed clockwise around the board. There is no capturing in Sternhalma, so pieces that are hopped over remain active and in play. A player may not combine hopping with a single-step move – a move consists of one or the other. Players take turns moving a single piece, either by moving one step in any direction to an adjacent empty space, or by jumping in one or any number of available consecutive hops over other single pieces. In "hop across", the most popular variation, each player starts with their colored pieces on one of the six points or corners of the star and attempts to race them all home into the opposite corner. (On bigger star boards, 15 or 21 pieces are used. Each player has 10 pieces, except in games between two players, when 15 pieces are used. ![]() The aim is to race all one's pieces into the star corner on the opposite side of the board before the opponents do the same. Rules A single move can consist of multiple hops each piece hopped must be directly adjacent, and hops can be in any direction. |
